The Damselflies

I never set out to become a hero. The arm was the result of an accident, and I'd been tweaking and modifying it ever since - mostly for personal reasons. And cybernetics can be addictive, you know? The arm, then the eyes, then the brain, and then suddenly you turn out to be a cyber-empath with hard-light construct projectors built into your limbs.
I'd always talked to machines. I like machines. Then one day they started talking back to me. Then one day, a couple of big guys tried to drag me into an alleyway. A few minutes later, they were running like they thought they'd never be able to run fast enough.
That gave me a taste for this business. That evening, I went home and started coding. Compiled all the fight scenes from all my favourite kung-fu films, plus the last few years of UFC, K-1 and every other combat sport event I could find on the internet. Added in a few instructional DVDs that I *ahem* legitimately bought and in no way torrented, then uploaded the whole thing into internal memory.
Yes. I know kung fu.

Then, suddenly, other heroes started popping up out of the woodworks. Fancy costumes, code-names, the works.
Maybe I should get a costume?
